Zero Waste Study Tours

The study tours give you the hands-on experience and knowledge that you need to implement Zero Waste plans in your city. They also give you the possibility to speak to experts and practitioners at all levels and share your experiences.

We have organised previous Study Tours to ‘best practice cities’ in Sardinia, Italy, the Basque Country, Spain, Flanders, Belgium and Northern Italy. These study tours have taken participants to Michelin Star Zero Waste restaurants, best in class Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) and innovative reuse centres.

Study Tour 2019

Zero Waste Europe is pleased to invite you to the Study Tour in Slovenia on the 8th, 9th and 10th of May.

Slovenia is the top performing country in Europe, having met the EU 2020 recycling targets 4 years ago.
Ljubljana offers results going beyond the national ones and committed to become a Zero Waste capital.

This Study Tour aims to disseminate good practices about waste management and better understand

how Slovenia achieved its impressive results in such a short time.

For the first time this year we’re adding a new module to our Study Tour: a workshop training on Zero Waste plans implementation. You’ll have the possibility to learn directly from skilled practitioners how to set up a programme

for your municipality!

Please note that registration is open until April 19th.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

So do not miss your chance to discover the best European region in terms of waste management!

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Slovenia.
