Study Tour 2018

Zero Waste Europe is pleased to invite you to the Study Tour in Flanders on the 6th and 7th of December.

The region of Flanders is indeed a forerunner regarding waste management. In 2000 it had already met the EU 2020 target for recycling waste and has now implemented an ambitious waste prevention program.

This Study Tour aims to disseminate good practices about waste management and better understand how Flanders achieved this successful system. Along with an overall presentation of what is done in Flanders, you will learn about specific initiatives such as the Bruges Food Waste prevention strategy  and community composting in Brussels.

Please note that registration is open until the 20th of November. Also places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. So do not miss your chance to discover good practices of one of the best European region in terms of waste management! We are looking forward to welcoming you in Brussels.

Zero Waste Study Tours

The study tours give you the hands-on experience and knowledge that you need to implement zero waste plans in your city. They also give you the possibility to speak to experts and practitioners at all levels of Zero Waste practice to implement the Zero Waste Masterplan.

We have organised previous study tours to ‘best practice cities’ in Sardinia, Italy, the Basque Country, Spain, Flanders, Belgium and the zero waste municipalities of Northern Italy. These study tours have taken participants to Michelin Star Zero Waste restaurants, best in class Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) and innovative reuse centres.
