Following the launch of the Zero Waste Ambassador and Trainer Curricula, together with our partners Lets Do it Foundation and Ekologi brez meja, we are organising two new training courses, which comprise a 4-week block of online sessions and a 3-day onsite training.

Who can apply?

  • You are based and work in an European country
  • You have good working knowledge of written and spoken English
  • You work (including volunteering) in the field of waste management, zero waste, circular economy or any other sustainability field
  • At least some of your work is focused on local (municipality) level

Additionally for the Zero Waste Ambassador programme:

  • You are in the beginning level of your zero waste journey and want to know more

Additionally for the Zero Waste Trainer programme:

  • You have a good knowledge of zero waste principles and their practical implementation or you have participated in the Zero Waste Ambassador programme
  • You have some experience in running workshops and other educational activities

After completing the training, all participants will receive a proof of completion. Additionally, there is a possibility to apply for the Zero Waste Ambassador or Trainer Diploma (with separate cost).

Zero Waste Ambassador training

What will you learn?

  • All the zero waste basics and what it practically means at the municipal level
  • How to put the zero waste principles into use within different local contexts
  • How to engage and communicate with different stakeholders
  • How to grow and develop as a Zero Waste Ambassador
  • Direct insights into the Slovenian zero waste journey, one of the most progressive ones in Europe

Online sessions:
Pre-session (2 h) on March 2nd to get to know each other and introduction into the training
3 h learning sessions: March 16th, March 23th, March 30th, April 4th (14:00-17:00 CET)
There will be individual pre-reading and homework tasks for each session

On-site training:
24th to 26th of May in Ljubljana, Slovenia

Price:
ZWE members 500 €, non-members 650 €
Travel, accommodation and dinners are not included in the price.

Zero Waste Trainer training

What will you learn?

  • The basics of learning psychology
  • How to teach zero waste topics and skills effectively
  • How to take into account the needs of the learners
  • How to create motivating learning environments
  • How to better assess learning

Online sessions:
Pre-session (2 h) on Feb 22 to get to know each other and introduction into the training
3 h learning sessions: March 1, March 8, March 15, March 22 (2pm-5pm CET)
There will be individual reading tasks accompanying each session

On-site training:
18th to 20th of April in Tallinn, Estonia.

Price:
ZWE members 500 €, non-member 650 €
Travel, accommodation and dinners are not included in the price.
